GreatClipsDeal is an independent Great Clips coupon aggregator and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Great Clips Inc. Great Clips salons are independently owned franchises, so prices and coupon terms are set locally. Always confirm the final price and the coupon terms with your salon before your cut.
Everything seems to cost more every year, so it's fair to ask whether haircuts are next. People search Bing for "are great clips prices going up", "great clips price increase 2026" and "how much is a great clips haircut now". The honest answer has two parts: what has happened to coupon prices, which we can measure, and what may be happening to regular prices, which vary salon by salon. This guide separates the two and shows how to protect your haircut budget either way.
The coupon numbers below come from the Great Clips coupon prices data study, which recorded 960 unique coupons from Great Clips' official Facebook advertising over 189 consecutive days, December 30, 2025 to July 6, 2026, across 44 states and provinces.
The short answer
- Coupon prices did not go up in the first half of 2026. The median price on the live coupon board stayed between $8.99 and $10.99 in every month from January through July, with no upward trend.
- The most common coupon prices are still $10.99 and $9.99. $10.99 appeared 192 times and $9.99 appeared 170 times, nearly 4 in 10 of all coupons tracked.
- Regular prices are a separate question. The study puts typical full price at about $15 to $19, but each franchise sets its own menu, so your salon may differ.
- Where you live moves the price far more than the calendar. State medians ran from $8.99 in Texas to $15.99 in California.
Coupon price vs regular price: why the difference matters
When someone says "Great Clips raised its prices", they usually mean the menu price at one salon. That's the regular price you pay without an offer. A coupon is a separate, temporary price that a salon or group of salons advertises to fill chairs.
The two can move independently. A salon can raise its regular price and still keep running $9.99 or $10.99 offers. That is exactly why the coupon matters more when regular prices rise: the gap between the two grows, and so does what you save.
Here is a worked example. The regular prices below are hypothetical, chosen to show the math; the coupon prices are real price points from the study.
If your salon's regular price is Savings with a $10.99 coupon Savings with a $9.99 coupon Savings with an $8.99 coupon $15 $4.01 $5.01 $6.01 $17 $6.01 $7.01 $8.01 $19 $8.01 $9.01 $10.01 $21 (example only) $10.01 $11.01 $12.01If regular prices creep up while coupon prices hold steady, every coupon you use is worth a little more.
What the coupon data shows, month by month
The study checked whether the typical coupon price drifted upward during the year. It didn't. In every month from January through July 2026, the median live coupon sat in the same $8.99 to $10.99 band. The study describes franchisees' coupon strategy as "remarkably consistent".
The study also says plainly what it can't tell you. The tracker's coverage improved in June 2026, so it makes no claims about how many coupons ran each month, only about prices. And it covers December 30, 2025 to July 6, 2026, so it can't speak to prices after that window. If someone tells you coupon prices jumped this fall, ask what data they're using.
Price points to watch
If prices were rising, you'd expect the cheap tiers to disappear and the expensive tiers to take over. Here's how the ten most common coupon prices were spread across the 960 coupons:
Coupon price Times seen What it signals $4.99 34 Rare promo burst $5.00 71 Promo; some are "dollars off", not a final price $5.99 39 Rare promo burst $7.99 58 Strong deal $8.99 83 Good deal; Texas median $9.99 170 Typical $10.99 192 Most common $12.99 53 Higher-cost market or smaller discount $14.99 46 Higher-cost market $17.99 32 Close to regular price in many areasOffers under $6 ($4.99, $5.00 and $5.99) made up 144 coupons, about 15%. They're real, but they arrive in short bursts at specific salons. They're not a sign that prices are falling.
Your state matters more than inflation
If you're comparing your price with a friend's in another state, you're mostly seeing geography, not a price increase.
State Median coupon price Lowest coupon tracked Texas $8.99 $3.00 Ohio $9.99 $3.99 Georgia $10.99 $4.99 Florida $10.99 $4.99 California $15.99 $5.00A $12.99 coupon is a great price in California and an expensive one in Texas. Before you decide your salon "went up", compare it with your own state's typical coupon, not a national headline.
How to tell if your salon actually raised prices
- Note the regular price on your receipt each visit. It's the only reliable record of your salon's menu price.
- Compare like with like. A basic cut, a kids' cut and a cut with add-ons are priced differently.
- Separate the coupon from the menu. Paying $12.99 instead of last month's $9.99 might just mean a different offer is running, not a menu change.
- Check a nearby salon. Franchises set their own prices, so two salons a few miles apart can differ.
- Ask. Staff can tell you the current regular price for your service.
How to keep your haircut cost flat even if prices rise
- Use a typical coupon instead of waiting for a rare one. Waiting weeks for a $5.99 offer often means paying the full $15 to $19 in the meantime.
- Check today's offer before you walk in. Look up the live coupons for your nearest salon the day before and note the expiry date.
- Convert every offer to a final price. "$5 off" a $17 regular price is $12, not $5.
- Budget tax and tip separately. Coupon prices don't include them.
- Grab a sub-$6 offer quickly if it appears at your salon. At $5.99 instead of $10.99, you save $5 on that cut.
