Haircuts add up fast when there are three, four or five heads in the house. Parents search Bing for things like "great clips family haircut cost", "how much is a great clips haircut for a family" and "great clips coupon for multiple people". This guide turns real Great Clips coupon prices into a simple family budget: what one trip costs, what a year costs, and how much a coupon habit saves compared with paying the regular price.

Every coupon price below comes from the Great Clips coupon prices data study, which recorded 960 unique coupons from Great Clips' official Facebook advertising between December 30, 2025 and July 6, 2026 (189 consecutive days, 44 states and provinces).

The short answer

  • A typical coupon is $9.99 or $10.99. Those were the two most common coupon prices in the study ($10.99 appeared 192 times and $9.99 appeared 170 times).
  • One family trip for four at those prices is about $40 to $44 before tax and tip.
  • The same four cuts at the regular price (about $15 to $19 each, per the study) would be about $60 to $76.
  • Over a year, a family of four that gets cut every six weeks could save roughly $128 to $256 by always using a typical $10.99 coupon instead of paying regular price.

What one family trip costs

Here is the cost of one visit, one cut per person, before tax and tip. Coupon prices are real price points from the study; family sizes are examples.

Family size At $9.99 coupon At $10.99 coupon At regular price (about $15 to $19) 2 people $19.98 $21.98 $30 to $38 3 people $29.97 $32.97 $45 to $57 4 people $39.96 $43.96 $60 to $76 5 people $49.95 $54.95 $75 to $95

Before the whole family walks in, check the fine print. Some offers are limited to one use per customer or per visit, some are for specific services, and every offer only works at the salons it lists. Ask the salon whether the same offer can be used for each person in your group. Don't assume it can.

What a year costs

How often people get a cut varies a lot. As an assumption (not study data), say everyone gets a cut every six weeks, which is about 8 cuts a year per person.

Family size Cuts per year All at $10.99 coupon All at regular price ($15 to $19) Yearly savings 2 people 16 $175.84 $240 to $304 $64 to $128 3 people 24 $263.76 $360 to $456 $96 to $192 4 people 32 $351.68 $480 to $608 $128 to $256 5 people 40 $439.60 $600 to $760 $160 to $320

If your kids get cut less often, or a teenager is growing it out, just count the real number of cuts in your house and multiply by your local coupon price.

Where you live changes the budget most

The study found that location matters more than timing. Median coupon prices ranged from $8.99 in Texas to $15.99 in California, while the typical board price stayed between $8.99 and $10.99 every month from January through July.

State Median coupon price One trip for four Year for four (32 cuts) Texas $8.99 $35.96 $287.68 Ohio $9.99 $39.96 $319.68 Georgia $10.99 $43.96 $351.68 Florida $10.99 $43.96 $351.68 California $15.99 $63.96 $511.68

So a family of four in California may budget about $224 more a year than a family in Texas, even if both always use a typical coupon. Compare against your own state's normal coupon price, not a national number.

Should the family wait for a $5.99 deal?

Usually not. Offers at $4.99, $5.00 and $5.99 made up 144 coupons, about 15% of the total, and the study says they come in short promotional bursts tied to specific salons. If a family of four waits for one and pays regular price in the meantime, one missed trip can cost about $16 to $32 more than simply using a $10.99 coupon.

Two exceptions:

  1. If a sub-$6 offer shows up for your salon, use it quickly. Four cuts at $5.99 is $23.96, which is about $20 less than four cuts at $10.99.
  2. Read round-number offers carefully. The study notes that a few $5.00 offers were "dollars off" promotions rather than final prices. "$5 off" a $17 regular price is $12, not $5.

A simple family coupon routine

  1. Pick one day a month or a six-week rhythm for family cuts so you only have to check offers once.
  2. Check the live offers for your nearest salon the day before, and note the expiry date.
  3. Convert every offer to a final price (watch for "dollars off").
  4. Ask the salon how many people can use the offer on one visit.
  5. Budget for tax and a tip on top; they aren't included in coupon prices.
  6. If there's no live coupon, compare a nearby salon that has one against the extra driving before you go.
