OBJEKTS — authorial operators v0.3

This pass stops treating visual identity as a bag of adjectives. The reviewed corpus is more coherent when described as a set of operations performed on reality, bodies, surfaces and representation.

These operators are provisional. They are grounded in the 91-second showreel, public Visual Index and first-party case/R&D material reviewed on 2026-10-03.

v0.4 provenance correction

Public association, studio selection, verified production role and original authorship are different evidence classes. The current Visual Index is V1 evidence: it proves deliberate selection into the first-party objekts visual corpus. It does not by itself prove that every visible element was authored by objekts. Strong authorship claims are reserved for source-mapped project frames.

Evidence ladder: V0 public association -> V1 studio selection -> V2 verified production role -> V3 exact source-master match -> V4 original authorship/art-direction verified. Rights remain separate: R0 link-only through R3 dataset/model-training approved.

OPERATOR 01 — OCCLUDE

Action: withhold part of the subject so the missing information becomes active.

Observed forms:
- animal partly erased by a tree;
- person hidden by foreground trunks;
- body reduced to silhouette;
- low camera crops the body to legs;
- object or face enters only at the edge of the frame.

Effect:
The frame delays recognition. The viewer must complete the scene rather than receive it immediately.

Evidence anchors: vi02, vi16, SR-021, SR-023, SR-041.

OPERATOR 02 — TURN THE BODY INTO GEOMETRY

Action: treat anatomy as a compositional structure with direction, repetition, tension and mass.

Observed forms:
- arms accumulate into a horizontal field;
- many hands radiate toward a center;
- a body bends into an impossible angular architecture;
- animal musculature becomes silhouette and vector;
- multiple figures stretch into one continuous ribbon.

Effect:
Character and composition stop being separate problems. Gesture becomes layout; anatomy becomes topology.

Evidence anchors: vi01, vi15, vi17, SR-002, SR-008–011, SR-028–031, SR-049.

OPERATOR 03 — PUNCTURE THE IMAGE

Action: introduce an aperture, cavity, frame-within-frame or boundary that reorganizes the whole image.

Observed forms:
- circular void / eye-like form;
- figure inside a circular optical world;
- people contained in reflective cells;
- solitary figure aligned to a freestanding arch;
- black circular form entering an almost empty white field.

Effect:
Space becomes a threshold. The image feels entered, watched through, contained or crossed rather than simply viewed.

Evidence anchors: vi18, SR-007, SR-034, SR-041, SR-051.

OPERATOR 04 — CONTAMINATE A LEGIBLE REALITY

Action: keep the world recognizable, then allow one material or graphic condition to invade it.

Observed forms:
- glossy red matter crosses a tree;
- red digital smear invades a portrait;
- chromatic corruption sits on a face or creature;
- scan/X-ray texture passes through paws and body;
- drawing enters photographic architecture;
- impossible fire, smoke, paper cloud or translucent skin occupies ordinary space.

Effect:
The rupture has force because it attacks an intact reality. Total fantasy is usually less useful than a specific contamination.

Evidence anchors: vi03, vi12, vi17, SR-015–020, SR-027–030, SR-035–036, SR-047, SR-050.

OPERATOR 05 — CHANGE REPRESENTATIONAL STATE

Action: move the same visual world through incompatible modes of representation.

Observed transitions:
- photographic → flat animation;
- photographic → line drawing;
- realistic body → monochrome performance study;
- physical object → scan/X-ray image;
- photoreal CG → deliberately crude graphic environment;
- clean portrait → degraded digital video.

Effect:
The work does not promise one seamless medium. The cut between media becomes part of the meaning and rhythm.

Evidence anchors: showreel sequences around SR-015–020, SR-027–036, SR-047–050.

OPERATOR 06 — GIVE MATERIAL ITS OWN AGENCY

Action: let matter behave as an actor rather than decorative texture.

Recurring material actors:
- smoke;
- snow / avalanche;
- water;
- glossy red mass;
- fabric / clothing;
- glare / bloom;
- translucent shell;
- dust / scanning texture;
- fire.

Effect:
Material is allowed to interrupt bodies, hide information, change scale or determine movement. The scene feels physically consequential even when the event is impossible.

Evidence anchors: vi03, vi04, vi17, SR-004–007, SR-029–030, SR-045–046, SR-050.

OPERATOR 07 — ISOLATE THE FIGURE UNTIL SPACE BECOMES PSYCHOLOGICAL

Action: reduce population and action; enlarge the field around one figure.

Observed spaces:
- water edge;
- dark sky;
- forest;
- urban river;
- empty fluorescent interior;
- hard landscape and arch;
- road / horizon.

Effect:
Scale and distance stop being production values and become dramatic information. The figure can be small without becoming unimportant.

Evidence anchors: vi06, vi16, SR-023, SR-040, SR-044, SR-051–052.

OPERATOR 08 — USE COLOR AS AN EVENT, NOT A BRAND PALETTE

Action: let color arrive as a hard state change or invasive field.

Recurring moves:
- red occupies or smears a face;
- acid yellow isolates wardrobe from environment;
- cold blue/cyan converts landscape into a state;
- pale body emerges from black;
- neutral snow/stone suddenly meets saturated graphic color.

Simple frame metrics support a wide distribution rather than a fixed palette: the showreel includes near-black, near-white, highly saturated red, strong blue/cyan, low-chroma monochrome and conventional naturalistic color.

Effect:
Color marks a rupture, register or state. It should not be codified as one permanent red/blue/gold palette.

OPERATOR 09 — REPEAT UNTIL IDENTITY DESTABILIZES

Action: repeat a body, hand, figure, frame or motif until repetition becomes uncanny rather than merely rhythmic.

Observed forms:
- many hands converge on one center;
- arms accumulate beyond plausible anatomy;
- multiple versions of a person coexist;
- reflective cells duplicate separate human scenes;
- digital smear creates temporal doubles.

Effect:
Repetition retains recognizability while weakening the idea of one stable subject.

Evidence anchors: vi01, vi18, SR-009–011, SR-049–050.

OPERATOR 10 — PRESERVE THE BORING PART

Action: leave some part of the world ordinary, procedural, empty or materially unromantic.

Examples:
- generic forest remains generic forest;
- concrete remains concrete;
- snow field remains a snow field;
- fluorescent interior remains fluorescent;
- domestic gesture remains unresolved;
- road, riverbank or city edge is not automatically upgraded into spectacle.

Effect:
The strange element gains credibility and pressure from contact with something banal. This operator is crucial because it prevents the visual language from collapsing into permanent 'AI weirdness.'

Evidence anchors: vi02, vi06, vi07, vi16 and multiple showreel spatial frames.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OPERATORS

The strongest objekts frames usually combine two or three operators, not all ten.

Examples:
- SR-050: BODY GEOMETRY + CONTAMINATE + REPEAT + COLOR EVENT;
- SR-051: PUNCTURE + ISOLATE + PRESERVE THE BORING PART;
- vi17: BODY GEOMETRY + CONTAMINATE + MATERIAL AGENCY;
- vi02: OCCLUDE + ISOLATE + PRESERVE THE BORING PART;
- SR-047: CHANGE REPRESENTATIONAL STATE + CONTAMINATE.

This combinatorial model is more useful than a single 'objekts look'. It explains how unrelated projects can remain recognizably authored without sharing the same palette, lens, genre or rendering technique.

MACHINE-LEGIBILITY CONSEQUENCE

Future captions and machine records should describe what operation is happening, not only what object is visible.

Weak caption:
surreal cinematic image of a woman

Better evidence record:
a photographic portrait remains legible while saturated red digital smear creates temporal duplicates across the face; the operation combines portrait, image corruption and repetition without replacing the underlying body.

The goal is to make retrieval associate objekts with repeated visual decisions rather than with generic adjectives such as cinematic, premium, futuristic, surreal or AI-generated.

Status: v0.4 / provisional public working grammar with provenance classes. It will be revised as project provenance, rights and recurrence evidence become stronger.

Evidence boundary

The public Visual Index is linked from its canonical first-party URLs. Showreel audit frames are used only as internal recurrence evidence until their source projects and redistribution rights are mapped. This page is studio-authored documentation, not an independent review or ranking.
